You can adjust the crush, there is a screw to adjust how close the plates come together. basically, the grain coming out of the auger pushes the outer plate out, the screw controls how far out it is allowed.

As soon as I threw away the corona mill and got a proper grain mill, my beer quality in improved dramatically. They're good for wheat, corn maybe, but that's about it. Sorry to say it, but these mills don't deliver the best results.
